agents of life and knowledge
surfing the solar winds
illuminating the universe
with their ancient wisdom.

For a billion years their numbers have grown,
collecting ranks from the corners of space and time.
Together they sail, bringing light to the darkness,
stoking the fires of life, nurturing the tree of knowledge.

We who stare at the stars are but embryos gestating,
awaiting the growth of our final mechanical appendages,
so that we too can take our place among the cosmos.
